The story of Red Horse Chestnut (✝︎)
When Charlie Marder was planting this tree he accidentally ran over his son Mica when he fell off the back of the truck. The tire traveled right across his midsection. Mica was fine because the ground was so muddy. The tree died from a girdling root in 2021. Since then Mica has turned it into a marble pollinator hotel.
