August 16, 17 & 22, 23

8pm

The audience is guided on a twilight procession through the arboretum. As storyorgans emerge, the thin line between the living and the dead begins to blur. We share and play through the follies of "ARE YOU HERE FOR THIS?", revealing a collective struggle to preserve what matters most. Along the way, we encounter an uncanny crew of T-shirt-time-gods, makelikes, shadowtwins, and fogbroods that just can't seem to hide the hand of fate. But where will we ask it to point?

Patrick Michael Ballard is a food closet filled to the brim with perforated, mummified, and erewhile leftovers. He beguiles his own navel between Santa Cruz and Los Angeles with ample mirrorgazing and lint sifting, populating the scar of his own origin with the embers of artist conch. He primarily focuses on developing techniques for revealing endangered processes of nuance in gradients of nonsense: forging speculative dowsing rods, symbolic resonators, and atmospheres for the orchestration of psychomagical parlor games and performances. He is a co-founder and co-director of SHELLGAME, a game design studio run through UC Santa Cruz with mattie brice, and a custodian of the Nowhere Lab through the nonspaces that it operates. His work has been shown in theaters, artist spaces, historic architectures, living rooms, birthday parties and at funerals.
